The Western Cape of South Africa is a true singletrack paradise and unique in the world. It is the reason the world-famous Cape Epic has been held here for over 20 years. Within a radius of just 40 km, you’ll find 15 different trail areas, each with its own distinct character.

You ride trails through rolling landscapes lined with vineyards, as well as rugged, rocky terrain with views over the ocean. The variety is remarkable. Surfaces change constantly — from hard red clay and rock to loose stones and sandy sections. You encounter it all.

The trails are built by mountain bikers, for mountain bikers. You won’t encounter hikers on these trails — so you can truly let the brakes go.

The common thread across all areas is a mix of accessible riding combined with short, punchy climbs and long, flowing descents. The program also includes technical climbs and downhills, adding variety and challenge throughout the week.

Cape Epic Light

De Zuid Afrika MTB Experience gaat niet over zo hard mogelijk van A naar B fietsen. Het gaat om de VIBE! Het gevoel van beleving en avontuur. Een groep vrienden, samen uit en samen thuis. Als gidsen garanderen wij de allermooiste trail combinaties die er bestaan. 8 dagen | 3-4 uur trail rides | max.7000 hm.

Is this for me?

You need to be fit and experienced! After a solid climb, you still want enough energy left to stay fully focused on a technical, fast-paced downhill. If berms, switchbacks, and rock gardens are new to you, then this is your next big challenge! With 12 riders, we ride with three local guides, ensuring safety, flow, and the perfect pace for every group.

Which Bike?

A dropper post is an absolute must. On fast descents, high-banked turns, and tight switchbacks, you’ll need that extra room to move, stay balanced, and stay in control — you will encounter plenty of those moments. Your ideal setup: full suspension | dropper post | tubeless tires. Built for confidence. Built for flow. Built for adventure.

Fantastic experience! Discovered beautiful tracks with super nice guides and a very nice group. Everything was taken care of down to the last detail and I really enjoyed the special environment in South Africa. In short: highly recommended!

During our 10 day South Africa MTB adventure I really enjoyed this country… 8 days of biking through this area is a gift… seen many different contrasts on the many routes. Great climbs of sometimes more than 10 km…. and then the fantastic descents… every day again… for the mountain biker definitely a recommendation… I will definitely go again.

Quite an experience! A unique experience with the best facilities and super guidance. Just the wonderful smell of the sea and flowers when you arrive in Cape Town! We stayed in the beautiful and atmospheric Yebo Guesthouse. From there we biked for 8 days through a beautiful landscape under the guidance of 2 great guides.
