The Event

The South Africa Mountain Bike Experience are exclusive events for groups of up to 12 mountain bikers. Led by local guides, we ride spectacular trails across wine estates with panoramic views of the ocean, townships, and in a breathtaking landscape.

MTB Trail paradise
There are about 850km of MTB trails within a radius of 35km. Here you will zig-zag on switchbacks, tackle climbs with incredible views, and enjoy downhill flow trails with exciting curve combinations.

Adventurous, safe and social are the core values of our events. With our local professional and certified guides, you are guaranteed to get the most out of your 10-day South Africa Mountain Bike Experience.

Adventurous activities
In the country that ranks No.1 in outdoor activities, the possibilities are almost endless. From ziplining to whale watching, shark cage diving, and a shooting range where you can try your hand at a .50-caliber sniper rifle. You can climb Lion’s Head at sunset and watch the city lights switch on in Cape Town at the end of an impressive last day.

Culinary experiences
In South Africa, hospitality is written with a capital letter. Eating out is a real pleasure. There are countless options for lunch and dinner. You will visit Idiom and Longridge, as well as casual bars such as Fancy Franks and De Brasserie on the edge of False Bay.

As owner from Cape Active Tours I can say we are a proud partner of the South African MTB Experience events. With our four qualified tour guides we strive tp provide quality cycle guiding with a personal touch to high end MTB events. As a company we want to affiliate ourselves with the SA MTB Experience organisation as a young innovative cycle touring company with ambition to grow into the European market.

As an adventure fanatic and Cape Town local I started my career working at the Sports Science Institute of South Africa followed by 3.5 years working in the UK before I returned to CT working in corporate settings. I eventually followed my passion, left the corporate rat race and qualified as tour guide. I have completed the Cape Epic twice and various other ultra-distance and multi day events, did the tour de mont blanc with two friends and walked the Annapurna circuit in Nepal. I would love love to show you around in the majestic environment we are fortunate enough to call our home.

Luxurious accommodation
You will have to unpack your suitcase only once, and that is at YEBO Boutique Guesthouse. Exclusively reserved for mountain bikers only during the event weeks of the SA MTB Experience. YEBO is different, a Feel Good Experience with a special vibe. The atmosphere is exclusive, without being over the top. The guesthouse features an outdoor patio with a braai, pizza oven and bar.
